💙💛⚡️ FFA Sweet Corn Day 2026
On September 14th the Littlestown Area School District FFA hosted its annual Sweet Corn Day! With the help of many students, teachers, staff, and community members, approximately 85 dozen ears of sweet corn were cooked and served at both schools to students who wanted to enjoy a fresh ear of corn. 🌽
This project is a major undertaking and would not be possible without the support of so many people. Our 50 FFA members harvested the corn, while six kindergarten classes and their teachers helped husk it. Elementary teachers welcomed our FFA members into their classrooms to teach younger students, and the LASD Food Service team began preparing the corn the day before to make today possible. We are also grateful for the support and approval of our administration.
But Sweet Corn Day isn't just about enjoying the harvest—it is also an opportunity for agricultural education! 🌽
Three groups of FFA students traveled to ACES to work with first-grade students. They presented three 15-minute lessons covering:
🌱 Corn biology
📖 The corn life cycle, including the book What Now, Kirby?
🥫 The many products made from corn
Did you know that America grows approximately 95 million acres of corn, making corn the #1 U.S. crop by acreage? Even more amazing, corn is used to make approximately 4,000 different products, including food, fuel, tires, explosives, and even diapers! 🌽
A huge thank-you to everyone who contributed to making Sweet Corn Day 2026 a success. This is a wonderful example of agricultural education, hands-on learning, teamwork, and community coming together. 💙💛⚡️

The LHS Field Hockey team played their Morgan’s Message game last night! A huge thank-you to everyone who wore their pink shirts and came out to support the team and this important cause.
Through the generosity of our LHS community, the team raised $350 to donate to Morgan’s Message! 💗
We are so proud of our players for using their platform to help spread awareness and support mental health in sports.
