Salt on snow:
Put the same amount of snow in two bowls. Sprinkle salt on one and leave the other as a control. Observe how the salt makes the snow melt faster and can even create a hole.

Miss Wagamanβs and Miss Russellβs classes planted and tended to lettuce as it grew in the hydroponic garden. Today, we had a harvest party to enjoy all our hard work. Some of our friends even tried some new veggies for the first time!

Our Kindergarten Friendsgiving Feast was full of smiles, gratitude and tiny turkeys. We are thankful for all the donations that our families shared. We hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Our big event is tonight at Hickory Falls! We can't wait to see you there!

TOMORROW!

Thanksgiving meal with Ms. Fink.

On Monday, 5th graders and some third graders were privileged to get to meet Mary Pope Osbourne, the author of The Magic Tree House series. We were not the only ones getting to know her. Students and teachers from around the country joined in for the Meet and Greet. Mrs. Osbourne greeted her audience, shared some information about herself with everyone, read from one of her new books, Windy Night With Wild Horses, and then she answered questions from around the country. I am not sure who was more excited to listen to her read, the teachers or the students!

Friendly reminder that we have our fundraiser event at Hickory Falls this Thursday from 4-8pm. We hope to see you there!

Yesterday, the second grade students had the wonderful opportunity to hear a local author speak and share her book with us. Libby Trostle lives in Littlestown and came to speak to the entire second grade about what it is like to be an author, the writing process, and how she gets ideas for her books. Students had the chance to ask Mrs. Trostle questions when she was done speaking to them and she even gave each student a copy of one of her books, Shining Hope Visits Niagara Falls. We were so excited to hear from a real author and get to ask her questions since writing is such an important part of our second grade curriculum. We are so thankful for the community we live in and the people who are willing to share their talents with us!
