Statement from the Littlestown Area School District Board of School Directors

At our regular meeting on February 9, the Board of School Directors was made aware of concerning social media activity associated with platforms operated by Duane Sullivan.

The Board is deeply concerned by online content connected to these platforms that included numerous comments expressing or advocating violence against a sitting Board member. Threats or statements promoting violence or personal harm toward any individual are serious and unacceptable. The presence and persistence of such content contribute to an environment that can foster harassment and intimidation.

More broadly, the Board is concerned about a prolonged pattern of online conduct over the past two years that has contributed to escalating tensions and personal attacks involving members of the Board. This type of activity undermines respectful civic engagement and is detrimental to the well-being of individuals and to the broader school community.

The Board stands firmly in support of the safety and dignity of all its members and reaffirms that harassment, intimidation, and threats have no place in discourse involving the Littlestown Area School District. While the Board respects the public’s right to express criticism and differing viewpoints, advocacy of violence or personal harm crosses a clear and unacceptable line.

We urge all members of the community to engage in discussions about district matters in a lawful, constructive, and respectful manner. Our schools and community are best served when disagreement is expressed through civil dialogue.
