What a great first week of school!
It was wonderful to welcome our students back and see the energy and excitement they bring each day. Our students truly brighten our hallways, classrooms, and café, and it has been exciting to see our schools come to life again.
At the secondary level, we have experienced a very successful first week in our new building. While we still have a long list of “firsts” ahead of us, the transition of bringing our middle and high school students and staff together has gone remarkably well. It has been wonderful to see students sharing the space, wearing their school colors, and coming together as one school community. We should all be proud of the positivity our students and staff have brought to this transition.
Athletics is off to a great start as well, with our student-athletes representing LASD with pride and enthusiasm.
At ACES, our youngest students are off to a wonderful start! Our Kindergarten staggered start was a tremendous success and provided our newest Thunderbolts with the opportunity to become comfortable with their classrooms, teachers, and new routines.
I am incredibly proud of our students and staff for the positive energy they have brought to the start of this school year. There is much ahead of us, and I am excited about what we will accomplish together.

A reminder for families: There will be no school on Friday, September 4, and Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, September 8.
