Dear Littlestown Community,
It is with profound gratitude and excitement that I introduce myself as your new Superintendent of Schools.
My journey with LASD began years ago in our classrooms, where I had the privilege of serving as a teacher. Life later took me away from the district for 15 years, during which I grew as an educator and leader in other school systems. Yet the unique spirit of this community always stayed with me. When the opportunity arose to return, I eagerly came back to serve as your High School Principal and, most recently, as your Assistant Superintendent.
Having worn these various hats within our district, I have a deep understanding of our schools from the inside out. I know firsthand the dedication of our teachers, the passion of our families, and the incredible potential of our students. This history gives me a unique perspective on our strengths and a clear vision of where we need to grow. My core belief remains unchanged: every student deserves a safe, engaging, and rigorous environment that prepares them to thrive.
While I know this district well, my transition into the superintendency marks a new chapter. Over the next few months, my priority is to listen with fresh ears. I want to hear your hopes, concerns, and ideas for our future. We will build on our strong foundation together, ensuring that honest, open communication guides every decision we make.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. I am incredibly proud to lead the district that has given me so much, and I look forward to working alongside you to ensure a bright future for all of our students.
With gratitude and excitement,
Dr. Judith Berryman
