proud

Littlestown Area School District is proud to boast an incredible lineup of talented and hardworking employees. Most recently, our local IU partner, Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, featured an article on former Littlestown student Djino Parker. Djino continues to make us proud through his dedication and strong work ethic as a valued member of our Maintenance Department.

We’ve included the full Facebook article below, or you can visit LIU 12’s Facebook page to check out this and other inspiring #WhereAreTheyWednesday features!

#WhereAreTheyWednesday: Djino edition!

To know Djino is to know an amazing young man full of spunk, personality, and a genuine love for making people smile and laugh. πŸ’™

Djino is a proud graduate of the Senior-to-Senior Transition Program (2024–2025) and a former student of the Littlestown School District. In June 2025, he began employment with the district’s Facilities Department as part of the mowing crew.. and he’s thriving!

During the warmer months, Djino enjoys mowing, weed whacking, trimming bushes and trees, and working outdoors. He describes mowing as peaceful and loves being able to listen to music while operating the zero-turn mower. When winter arrives, Djino shifts gears to support custodial work, assist with moving items during the high school remodel, and help wherever he’s needed. His coworkers and supervisor speak highly of him and truly enjoy having him on the team.

Outside of work, Djino is thoughtful about his finances- more of a saver than a spender, while still treating himself occasionally (new earbuds are on his wish list!). He has goals of one day having his own apartment, earning his driver’s license, and continuing to build independence.

Djino is also a writer and poet, currently working on a book that shares parts of his life story. Writing gives him a powerful outlet for self-expression, and in his β€œperfect world,” he’d love to publish his work and pursue a career as a writer.

When asked if there’s anyone he’d like to thank, Djino said there are β€œtoo many to put on the roster.” His advice to others graduating high school and entering the workforce?

β€œBe you! You can never go wrong with being you.”

We are INCREDIBLY proud of all that Djino has accomplished and excited to see where his quick wit, kindness, and determination take him next. Keep chasing those goals, Djino!! You’re already making the world a better place just by being you. πŸ€—
