LITTLESTOWN AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT SEEKING SUPERINTENDENT!
The Board of Directors is looking for a superintendent who is committed to student achievement and well-being, demonstrates unquestionable integrity and transparency, communicates and builds relationships, and has the courage to make difficult decisions and address difficult situations.
SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SUPERINTENDENT PROFILE
Littlestown Area School District (LASD) is a small, rural public school district located in southeastern Adams County. The district encompasses approximately fifty square miles and serves Littlestown, Union Township, Germany Township, a southern portion of Mount Pleasant Township and the eastern portion of Mount Joy Township and Bonneauville Borough.
The District enrolls 1,836 students, with a minority enrollment of 10% and economically disadvantaged of 25.8 %. Its elementary, middle, and high schools are all within walking distance of each other on the east side of Littlestown. A survey completed by LASD professional, support, and administrative staff, parents/guardians, and residents without children in the schools overwhelmingly highlighted the District’s support for students’ learning and wellbeing, as well as strong community pride. Respondents also value the staff’s work ethic; the District’s broad range of academic and vocational pathways and extracurricular activities; and its small, connected campus.
In selecting the next superintendent, the LASD Board of School Directors seeks a leader with previous leadership experience and a proven track record of advancing student learning and wellbeing. In addition, they want a leader who will collaborate effectively with the Board, staff, and community to build on the District’s strengths and guide its continued growth and success.
The Board of School Directors is offering a multiyear contract that features a regionally competitive compensation package with an estimated salary of $160,000, with additional consideration of superintendent experience, exceptional credentials, and achievements. Candidates must meet the legal requirements to be certified as a superintendent in Pennsylvania.
The window for applications opens on November 18, 2025, and the review process will begin shortly thereafter. Applications close at noon on January 2, 2026.
