Find My Legislator : Cyber Charter Funding Reform

Littlestown Area School District encourages its constituents to ask their legislators to support cyber charter school funding reforms in the 2025-26 state budget. While Act 55 of 2024 improved cyber charter school ethics and transparency, further reforms are needed to ensure fairer payments to these schools, while still preserving educational choices. The proposed reforms include:

Statewide Tuition Cap: Set a maximum tuition rate for non-special education students. School districts would pay the lesser of the statewide rate or their own calculated rate.
Tiered Funding for Special Education: Create a tiered funding system for special education students, based on their individual needs, similar to the existing state funding formula for school districts.

The goal is to reduce the financial burden on school districts and taxpayers while maintaining access to cyber charter schools. By working together for one common goal, focused on student needs, let's make cyber charter reform a reality!
