Student Assistance Program (SAP)
The SAP program is an intervention team composed of teachers, counselors, the school nurse, the building administration, and representatives of community agencies. SAP members are trained to identify and refer students who may be "at risk" for appropriate assessment. At risk concerns may include: substance abuse, physical and/or sexual abuse, eating disorders, depression, school phobia, suicide prevention, and truancy.
Referrals for at risk students come from students, parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and/or community members. If there is a concern for the physical and emotional well-being of a student, contact the child's school counselor.
