Welcome Back Letter from Mr. Fissel

Welcome Back Letter from Mr. Fissel

Dear Students and Families:

We hope you are enjoying the remaining weeks of your summer break. It is with pleasure that we welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year, and the opening of the new Alloway Creek Elementary School (ACES). The building encompasses the existing classroom hallways in addition to two new halls and a gymnasium. Furthermore, there is a dedicated band/choral area, along with a new "Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics" (STEM) lab. Outside the building there are two playground areas installed with brand new equipment, and ample green space to run and have fun. Students in grades K-5 will now call this home for their entire elementary careers. The ACES's staff is working hard preparing for this school year, and we are extremely excited about your arrival. Please be reminded that the first day of school is August 28, 2017.

The ACES's staff is dedicated to providing a quality education for all of our students. Students will be engaged in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and a full complement of exploratory (physical education, art, library, music, and STEM) subjects while being mentored and coached in social/emotional well-being. This balance is designed to develop students' academic needs and their executive functioning skills.

Through multiple programs and practices, our goal is to meet the needs of each individual student. We believe our mutual investment in children, families, and the community will prepare our students for the twenty-first century.

A vital component of our school is the support of our families and community. ACES's is fortunate to have parent volunteers who donate their time working with students and school-sponsored activities. Our PTO coordinates activities throughout the school year. We welcome family members to assist us during these events. We believe family involvement is vital to student success, so we invite you be an active part of our students' lives.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to a fantastic school year. Listed below are some important dates to remember:
