Improving Learning: Every Student, Every Day, Every Way

Improving Learning: Every Student, Every Day, Every Way

November - December 2013

It’s hard to believe the first quarter of the school year is gone. We celebrate our District’s academic success having all buildings receive respectable results in the most recent, first ever School Performance Profile released by the State.

In addition to the solid academic results, we are also very proud of the amount of general fund (budget) money that is going to directly support learning and instruction. By analyzing the adjacent graph, you can see since 2008-2009, the percentage of general fund money to support instruction has been increasing with the exception of one year. In that year, additional money was used from the general fund to support the Rolling Acres electrical project and several other projects across the district. At the same time due to decreases in state funding, the district has contained costs so the overall budget total did not increase; however the amount of instructional funds has increased.

We are very proud of our football team's success as winner of the York/Adams County Interscholastic Athletic Association League Championship and its advancement to District competition. Our band has also received some recent recognition for events in which it has participated. Our Mock Trial Team has begun preparation for another year of competition. The Mock Trial Team at Littlestown Area High School is the only one of its kind in Adams County.

We wish everyone a safe and happy upcoming Holiday Season!
