Mission Statement for Rolling Acres

We, the faculty and staff of Rolling Acres Elementary School, are dedicated to providing all students a safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment which promotes mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy students that are responsible, respectful, and tolerant citizens with an emphasis on creating lifelong, independent learners through a strong partnership between the home and school communities.

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to Rolling Acres Elementary School!! Rolling Acres Elementary is a child centered school with a staff dedicated to promoting the maximum development of each student and providing experiences that are enriching and rewarding.

We believe our mission is to provide the foundation for life-long learning. This foundation is built on three beliefs: 1) Our school may be the first experience a family has with public education, and we must strive to make that experience a positive one; 2) language arts and mathematics are the foundations for future learning, and instruction must focus on these important areas; 3) children learn in different ways and at different rates. Instruction must provide opportunities for active involvement in developmentally appropriate activities.

To support this important process, we believe that:

• Families are important members in the learning process of each student. They must feel welcome at school and play an active role in their children’s learning.

• Students must feel safe, nurtured and respected in their schools in order to reach their full potential.

• Students must have opportunities to develop appropriate academic and social skills by interacting and working cooperatively with one another.

• Students learn at different rates and through different means. Effective instructional strategies must be implemented to meet these needs.

We look forwarded to working together to maintain the tradition of excellence.

Sincerely,

Mr. Lawrence E. Ott, Principal

Mrs. Teresa Marie Ader-Doumont, Assistant Principal
