Message from the Director

Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year!

LASD is committed to providing students with authentic learning experiences through the integration of technology.  Last year, students at Maple Avenue Middle School had access to technology on a daily basis through chromebooks and iPads. From accessing content on the internet to problem-solving and creating, learning was transformed.

This year, all incoming freshmen at Littlestown High School will receive an iPad to be used both in the classroom and at home throughout the student’s high school career. These students will now have 24/7 access to the world.

With the opening of Alloway Creek Elementary School, students in grades K-5 will now have a STEM rotation - Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - including units in design thinking, building, and coding.

Placing technology in the hands of our students:

  • Provides unlimited opportunities for real-world learning;
  • Fosters creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking; and
  • Develops the digital skills required for future success.

As empowered learners, all LASD students will leverage technology to construct knowledge, investigate, and collaborate with others locally and globally. Daily use of technology is one more way Thunderbolts fly World Class!
