On May 22, two Littlestown FFA students completed the restoration of a 1960 Ford 641 tractor and displayed it at the 30th Littlestown FFA Banquet. The students who completed the project this year were Justin Redman and Jacob Crawmer, both seniors.
The tractor was purchased by the Littlestown FFA in December of 2014 with the intention of restoring it and reselling it. The students met one night a week to complete the project as part of their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE Project). S.A.E.’s are projects students enrolled in agriculture courses complete outside of scheduled class time to receive hands-on learning. Two Littlestown Alumni helped serve as mentors for the project: Ben Stonesifer, class of 1995; and Jody Brown, class of 1991.
This was the second restoration project that Littlestown Agriculture students have completed. Last year, the FFA completed the restoration of a 1963 Allis Chalmers D-17. This project was featured on the September copy of the Fastline magazine, as well as on RFD-TV on Max’s Tractor Shed. This tractor is now used for public relations at tractor shows, parades, and tractor pulls.
